Death is a fact of life--
Ironic though that sounds.
No one knows the age, time, place,
Or how their time comes around.
Whether expected or unexpected--
It still hits loved ones as a shock.
That person may have been their mentor, confidant,
A loved one, someone they considered their rock.
Though we don't know how, and it will be hard--
Our lives will go on without them. But the legacy
Of love and memories they gave us will never lose
Their meaning. In our hearts they'll always be.
You'll feel their nearness in the good times.
And they'll be near you in the bad.
They share your joy and happiness, and their
Memory comforts you when you're sad.
As long as you remember them, they're
Never really gone.
Each time we think or talk about them,
Their spirit still lives on.
