We all have an inner light.
Doesn't matter if we're black or white.
We also have hearts and souls--
Some have let them turn hard and cold.
The Ten Commandments says "Thou shalt not kill",
Not "if they look different, shoot at will".
The Bible says to love one another--
It says nothing about loving only certain colors.
No one is above the law--
Not even a member of the law.
Murders have been wrongfully done,
Murderers are on BOTH sides, not just one.
Peaceful protests are ways to work for change.
Arson, looting, and violence just cause pain.
Hatred and anger build more each day.
People on both sides ask for peace--others say nay.
Black people should be treated as equals--
In life, society, and jobs. Not as dirt under our heels.
Instigators need to realize times have changed.
Black people are no longer property and kept in chains.
If this country can elect a black man
As President, we need to keep offering a hand.
When someone commits a crime, law enforcement
Or civilian, they should face equal consequences--not different.
Those who cannot accept these facts should not
Be in charge. And they should not start riots.
If anyone thinks someone was not given a real
And proper verdict--remember, the Ultimate Judge will.
