In my dreams, in my own little
Corner of the world--no one would
Be homeless, poor, or starving. There
Would be no bullies, riots or hatred.
No one would kill their children,
Or anyone else for no reason--
The weather wouldn't cause death and
Destruction, and there would be 4 seasons.
People would respect one another and
Not trash talk or call names. No
Cruel comments or heartless words about people
Who've served our country and God is calling them home.
There would be no destruction of
Tombstones or swastikas painted
To vandalize and disrespect because
The vandals hearts and minds are tainted.
There would be help for those
Who suffer depression and other
Mental problems. They wouldn't be
Ostracized and have to live in the gutter.
Most important--you could pray
Whenever and wherever you wanted.
The Pledge of Allegiance would be said in schools.
The flag and National Anthem would be honored.
Families would be families--not
Distant strangers that are related.
Express feelings of love when felt--
Don't wait, they'll be belated.
Love and have faith in God,
Be kind and help one another.
Remember the Lord says we
Are all sisters and brothers.
This is what my imagination
Would have in my little
Corner of the world.
