KUDOS

There is a young autistic boy
In Waycross, GA.  He was very
Excited because he was having
His 7th birthday party.

The day of his birthday arrived,
He couldn't wait for his "friends" to come.
However, no one showed up--
Not even one.

He was hurt and his folks upset.
How could people be so cruel?
They were supposed to be his
Friends from school.

His Dad went to get his phone he had
Left at home and came across a fire engine.
He talked to the firemen and he told
Them what had been done.

The firemen said everyone should
Have a birthday--they got a Deputy
Sheriff, and some EMT's and went
And gave the little boy a great party.

He got to ride the fire engine,
Blow the horn and the sirens, hold
The hose and spray water, and have fun.
It was the best party ever his father he told.

So, kudos to the First Responders
From Waycross, GA.  They took
The time to show kindness to a little boy,
And put on his face a joyful look.

The story made the national news.
I hope the parents and the kids
That didn't show up are ashamed
And learnt a lesson about being friends.
