Centuries ago, there was a man
And woman who loved each other
Completely, and never wanted to be
Apart. Spending every moment together.
They married and lived many years--
Just the two of them. They weren't
Blessed with children, that didn't bother
Them--they were so enraptured.
They both loved to dance and would
Hold balls every chance they got, just
To hold each other in their arms and
Waltz. Their favorite ball was Christmas.
Everyone was happy, decorations
Were hung--gifts handed round.
He in his tuxedo--she in a beautiful,
Flowing emerald gown.
Years passed and they still
Loved each other very much.
One day, the man passed away--the
Woman took to her bed, mourning his touch.
She wouldn't eat, wouldn't see anyone--
Her heart was broken with grief. No
More balls, no music was played. She
Grew weak, and then her time came to go.
Legend has it that at Christmas
Time, if you listen intently--you
Can hear strains of the Christmas Waltz. And
On a clear winter's night, there are those two.
She in her emerald gown, and he
In his tux. Young again, and dancing
Their waltz covered in stardust and
Lighted by moonbeams , and smiling.
