Dark clouds loom overhead,
The sun has stopped it's shine.
That usually means one thing--
It's thunderstorm time.
Sometimes it builds gradually--
Sometimes it just appears.
The meteorologists keep us posted,
In case it turns severe.
Sometimes it's a short, quick
Storm. others--straight line winds.
When it's a tornado, go to cover--
Everything it touches crumples and bends.
Sometimes it's just thunder
And lightening with hardly
Any rain. Sometimes there are
Hailstones--some huge, some like a pea.
Though they're a fact of life --
Always beware of the dangers.
And be sure to warn
Unsuspecting strangers.
