PRIDE

There is good pride--
And there is bad pride.
Good pride is when you have
Served your country, gone through
Hell--and come out the other side.

Good pride is being proud
Of doing a job well.
Being thorough, finishing
All details, seeing it through:  Pride
In what you do makes your heart swell.

There is pride in raising a family.
Teaching them what is good and bad.
Giving them morals and codes to
Live by--being a good example
Through actions-not just what you said.

Bad pride is false pride--
It can also be called conceit.
Thinking you know more and
Are better than everyone.  Acting
Like they should kiss your feet.

Bad pride can also lead you
To make bad decisions and use
Bad judgement.  You may want to
Solve a problem--but the way
You go about it--no one would choose.

Bad pride can make you think that everyone
Loves you because you're so great.
That is until you open your mouth on
Social Media or in a statement said--
Then you hear and feel the hate.

The Bible says "Pride goeth before
Destruction and a haughty spirit
Before a fall".  That means pride can
Cause problems, and if you think you
Need no help--that doesn't solve it.

Basically, being proud means to
Have good character and integrity.
And to know sometimes you work as
A team.  Don't boast or make false statements,
Be who God made you to be.
