WHEN A FRIENDSHIP DIES

It's so sad when a friendship dies.
It's almost like a death when someone
You were close to is no longer around.  There
Are lots of reasons friendships come undone.

Time and distance are two big reasons.
Each one gets caught up in their day
To day life with family and work--
And before you know it--they drift away.

It takes perseverance to keep in
Contact with old friends.  Some just
Don't have it or aren't good at keeping contact
With each other.  The friendship turns to dust.

Sometimes people change from the ones
You used to know.  They move in different
Circles, or other reasons like health or things
They're bound to, like family commitments.

When you think of the past and
All the fun you had--
Sometimes it feels like mourning,
It makes you feel so sad.
