WOMEN

This is National Women's History Month.
We are an integral part of the tapestry
That has woven together over years
To make up our nation's history.

We worked along side men as pioneers--
Helping to establish homes and farms
As well as being nurturing to our
Children and defending them from harm.

We are strong-yet gentle, encouraging,
But formidable to those who would
Attempt to deter us from pursuing
Our goals because we knew we could.

We are intelligent, hard
Working and resourceful--
We can be part of a team,
Or lead one--we are capable.

We work as hard as men
And get paid less--
We're the ones who
Clean up the mess.

We are First Responders--
We also serve in the military.
We may or may not stay single, our
Lives don't end if we don't marry.

Women are a very important part
Of everything that goes on--
Whether out front, or behind the scenes.
We've earned our place in the sun.
