In school about the mess our world's now in?
How will the textbooks explain it--
Will they even know how to begin?
Will they explain the pain and anger
That everyone felt? Will they
Tell of incidents that brought it about?
Will they tell the truth on where the blame lay?
Or will future generations have
Textbooks at all? Will they learn
The worlds problems by computer videos--
Seeing bombs dropped and cities burn?
Will the countries and landmarks
We've known for centuries be
Nothing but rubble and ruins--
Their cultures a vague memory?
Will future generations
Learn from our mistakes?
Or will they repeat history--
I hope not for their sakes.
