WHAT DO YOU SAY TO YOUR CHILDREN?

As parents, we want to be sure
We teach our children how to behave.
Manners, respect, no bullying, and kindness.
So how do you explain political campaigns?

The way the politicians act
Shows no regard for others.
They make crude remarks and call hateful
Names they wouldn't say before their mothers.

Don't they listen to the Anti-Bullying PSA's
And know their words can cause harm?
Being a disgrace to everyone will not show
They can be trusted and should sound an alarm.

What type of lesson are we showing
Coming generations?  You can only
Get somewhere being hateful and loud--using
No common sense, hard work, and don't be phony?

What would happen if we ever
Had a campaign where everyone
Was civil?  No name calling, crude
Remarks, just debating facts one by one?

Political campaigns get more derogatory
And malicious each year.  We want to know
Who has a workable plan to fix things--
So we can fight terrorism, our real foe.
