This may be a stupid question,
But I wonder why it is--
Companies can raise what they charge
Us--but we can't get a raise to live?
They say they need more money
To provide the services we need--
But we have to choose between bills,
Or is it the family we should feed?
The poor and the elderly
Get hit really hard--they
Either have none or a fixed income--
Food, bills, or medicine, what should they pay?
None of our government leaders,
Local, State or Federal can
Balance a budget without cuts to
Education, or the Arts--they have no plan.
It simply makes no sense
To raise prices for services most
Can barely afford now. Having too
Much common sense they cannot boast.
