I never knew my Mom's Dad,
He died before I was born.
He was a farmer who worked hard--
Starting each day in the early morn.
Family tells me he was a kind,
Honest man, easy going and strong.
He farmed the land with his brother
Who was a bachelor his whole life long.
I've seen pictures of Grandpa--
And the resemblance shows in
My Mom somewhat.
I think I would have liked him.
Mom says she thinks Grandpa
Would have liked me, I take
After her--I'm ornery, and
I can cook and bake.
Grandpa died of a massive
Heart attack, unexpectedly.
This may sound selfish--
But I wish he'd lived to meet me.
