What is it that makes people
Want to hurt or cause problems
For others, even if they don't know
Who they are or anything about them?
Is it something in their past--
Possibly their childhood that
Made them think it's all right
To bully others through lies, not facts?
Or is it that through the years
Life has turned them into
Mean, bitter blowhards who take
Their bitterness out on anyone who'll do?
Inevitably, some of the people
Caught by their snarky comments
Are fighting their own battles, and
Take the words to heart--to their detriment.
People need to think before they speak:
Will my words help or do harm?
Will they make someone feel cold and alone,
Or feel they are safe, loved, and warm?
The Bible says "Let he who is
Without sin cast the first stone."
Nobody on this earth can claim that--
So don't cause trouble, don't throw stones.
