Our Forefathers

Our nation was built on
The belief that everyone is
Created equal, and should be free
To pursue Life, Liberty, and Happiness.

It was also founded in their
Belief in God and the Bible.
Scriptures are carved into all doors
In the U.S, Capitol.

If they could see the country now,
How greed and cruelty have taken over--
And that no sign of God is allowed in
Public buildings--they would feel horror.

No mention of God or prayer allowed in
Schools, simply because some don't like it.
Some constitutional amendments have been made,
To bring it up to date--but turning from God doesn't fit.

Political parties try to wheel and deal
To get around some restrictions.
They don't agree on anything--
Especially what would help the nation.

Our forefathers knew that without
God and prayer our nation's
Foundation might crumble.
Freedom of religion MEANS FREEDOM.

Our forefathers could not dream
During their lifetime what our
Country would grow to become.
Or the corruption of power.

We need to get back to our
Roots:  honesty everywhere,
In everything, put scripture wherever
We want, and bring back school prayer.

Those who are against it, have loudly
Made their objections known.
It's their right not to participate--but
The rest of us want the USA to come home.
