Politicians

They open their mouths,
You can't believe what they say--
Making promise after promise
To get you to vote their way.

All forms of government
Are in a standoff, they can't agree--
Except on raises for them and
Cuts in programs to help you and me.

Promises made to our military,
Both present and past--
Have been broken or "reworded".
Revelations about the VA leave us aghast.

How refreshing it would be to
Have someone say what they mean
And mean what they say.
No scandals or mind games on the scene.

All levels of government need
To re-earn the nation's respect
And trust, it won't be easy.
So our leaders are no longer a wreck.
