Christ Birth

No trumpet sound or banners flying,
Only an angel choir and a star so bright--
Announced the birth of our Savior
In a lowly manger that night.

The animals sensed the miracle
Happening in the stable that night.
Mary and Joseph did too--
There was no feeling of fright.

Three wise men followed the star--
Searching for the Savior and
Bearing gifts of Gold, Frankincense,
And Myrrh, from all across the land.

The angels told the shepherds
Who were watching their flocks,
That a Savior was born in a manger
Amongst sheep, donkeys, and ox.

We need to remember that this
Time of year--the Holiday Spirit began
With the Holy Spirit.  God sent
His Son to save the soul of man.
