Before the day begins.
Sunsets streaked with color,
As the day ends.
Viewing a beautiful work of art,
Whether a painting or sculpture--
Or something handwoven
From another culture.
Hearing the person you care
About say "I love you".
Getting married, exchanging vows--
Saying loud and clear "I do".
Beautiful jewelry that glitters,
And beautiful clothes.
Finding out someone has a
Beautiful heart and soul.
Becoming a parent or grandparent
For the very first time--
Seeing your child's first steps
Or hearing their first word and you cry.
Seeing the mountains
And valleys, beautiful lakes--
God is a great artist, meticulous
In everything He makes.
The first snow of winter--
Pristine and magical.
The many colors of
Leaves during the Fall.
Seeing faith and prayers to
God work miracles,
Healing the sick and wounded
When doctors are skeptical.
Standing when our National Anthem
Is played, people helping people--
The poor, homeless and hungry.
And some day, actual peace in the world.
