Pepper was a black and white fox terrier
Given to me when I was little and so was he.
He kept getting out of the yard, so--
My parents took him away from me.
Mitzi was a miniature schnauzer-salt and pepper.
She was loved and spoiled. She had a prickly large
Bladder stone--our vet then said she had diabetes.
By the time he removed it--too late, weakened heart.
Trixie was also a miniature schnauzer-salt and pepper.
She was rambunctious and playful, high strung.
She had a heart attack at the groomers--
She died fairly young.
Daisy and Ginger were half sisters, they went
With us everywhere. Daisy was bashful, but
Ginger was outgoing. They lived long lives.
They had to be put down due to senility, the pain still cuts.
Maggie was my baby I got when I bought
My house. She was so smart and great company
And loved to visit her "Grammie". She got diabetes and
Then her kidneys shut down and she had to leave me.
Sassy was a black and silver schnauzer bought from
Step-cousins of ours. She was special to Mom and I.
She went blind, had diabetes, and then out of nowhere--
A large tumor on her liver ruptured and she died.
I would loved to have kept them all,
But it wasn't meant to be.
One thing for sure--they knew they were
Loved, and when they left, so did part of me.
