When a woman sees her daughter
For the very first time, tears in her eyes--
She can hardly believe
God's given her a gift so divine.
As time goes by, their bond
Continues to grow, they may argue
And disagree about clothes, dating,
Makeup, and what they shouldn't do.
Before you know it, the daughter
Is grown. Getting a job, setting
Out on her own, making decisions--
Relies on her upbringing--never forgetting.
The last time a mother and daughter
See each other, both have tears in their eyes.
Each remembering times past together--
Before one reaches the end of her life.
