In the year 1955,
On August 28th--
V. Bruce Smith and Priscilla Haney
Before God and man were married.
Taking a giant leap in love and faith.
They exchanged their vows as promises,
And kept them all these years.
Rich or poor, in sickness and in health--
I'm sure they had their share of fears.
But they made a solemn promise
Not only to each other, but to God.
They've kept Him their focal point
As through their lives they trod.
To those of us who know and love them,
They are the definition of soulmates.
They are partners in life and marriage--
Taking nothing for granted, and keeping their faith.
They are blessed with two beautiful daughters,
And a wonderful extended family.
They make lifelong friends,
Wherever they may be.
They've had to slow down now,
The years have taken their toll.
But the love, friendships and
Memories our hearts will forever hold.
