Lord, don't let me be a burden
To my family and my friends--
Because of my depression, and
The pain that never seems to end.

They all have their own problems,
They don't want to hear or deal with mine.
Lord, don't let me be a burden--
Please don't let me whine.

Prayer requests on serious problems
I have no trouble asking for.
But moaning about my problems--
Don't let me open that door.

I'm always ready to help others
Any way I can,
Be it listening to someone--
Or just holding a hand.

Lord, don't let me be a burden
To my family and my friends.
They can only take so much,
And our connection ends.
