Hymns

New songs are written all the time, to remind us
Of God's love and how Christ died for our sins.
They are beautiful and uplifting--spreading God's word.
But sometimes they don't touch your heart and soul like the old hymns.

Hymns that people remember from childhood,
That give them comfort in times of need.
Sung so many times, they're known by heart--
Not needing song books or screens to read.

"Turn Your Eyes Upon Jesus", or maybe
"In The Garden" are special for some.
Old and new aren't in competition--
They just remind us that again Christ will come.

They all want us to know that
"The Circle Won't Be Broken"
And we all have a better
Home waiting in Heaven.
