Don't Be Too Late For Your Life

In our crazy, mixed up world,
People are busy trying to make a living.
And work so hard and go back and forth
They forget to make a life and be giving.

Leaders of government pass laws
That make it harder for people to survive--
They invade other countries, commit murder,
And uproot families trying to stay alive.

Everyone feels the need to compete
And be better than the other person.
Some cut corners or steal money,
And their lives are in prison.

Don't ever get too busy
To make sure you have a life.
Somewhere to retreat to
Amidst the stress and strife.

"Stop and smell the roses" is another
Way to say it.  Make sure you are
Emotionally and physically grounded--
Or life will zip past like a shooting star.

You'll be near the end of your time here,
And wonder where your life went.
You were late for your life,
And missed many chances God sent.

It's sad when a person is gone and all
That can be said is they were born and they died.
No fond memories of  kindness--just businesses built.
They were so busy making a living, they were too late to make a life.
