Different Forget-Me-Nots

People say not to dwell on the past.
Good advice, but some things should
Never be forgotten.  Always remember
God is your Heavenly Father, and He is good.

If there are things that upset your life,
Remember to avoid them.
Don't make the same mistakes twice,
That should ease your problems.

Never forget the Holocaust--
A horror that should never be repeated.
No human being, no matter who they are,
Deserves the brutality of how the Jews were treated.

Remember our troops who fight to
Keep our freedom.  Whether you agree
With the war itself, NEVER disrespect
The brave men and women of our military.

Never forget 9-11-01.
Innocent people murdered for
No real reason except the killers hated
Them.  Remember the courage of Flight 93's passengers.

Remember innocents murdered in schools,
Malls, theaters and churches.
Remember all these things-not to dwell on the past,
But so next generations who research--

Will know what to do and
Hopefully do it to keep
History from repeating itself,
And making the world weep.
