Cruel People

When people hurt you,
Just leave them be.
Get away quickly
From their negativity.

It doesn't matter
How many things you do right--
They only focus on things gone wrong, they
Care not for your feelings--while you're up all night.

Some have no conscience,
They'll just go on with their life.
They may be family, a boss, or a "friend"
Their words and actions cut like a knife.

They may say you're over sensitive,
But it's better to show you're human
Then to be thought of as a cold
Unfeeling man or woman.

Some day it may happen to them,
And they'll think everyone mean.
Maybe then they'll realize
Being cruel isn't so keen.
