Holy Place

If a place is Holy
To two different religions,
Even though they're enemies--in
Their religions that place was chosen.

All religions ask for peace and to
Help one another--so why don't they
Do as their religions ask and compromise
To care for their mutual Holy way?

Have guards from each religion
Take a solemn oath to guard
Their part of the area and do nothing to
Provoke the other with words or war.

If they bomb each other
Over a place each holds dear--
With all the shooting and bombing,
The Holy place will no longer be there.

Then each will blame the other
For desecrating their Holy ground.
But on BOTH sides there's
Enough blame to go around.
