Christmas Lights

They come in different colors,
Sizes and shapes.  Indoor
And outdoor, solid or blinking.
Lovely to see, but putting up a chore.

Some like all one shade,
Some like the multi-color.
Some just do the house--
Some put them all over.

Some like small white ones
That twinkle or the ones that just shine.
They make whatever they're put on
Look dainty and refined.

Then there are the icicles--
Long or short,
They look lacy,
Like works of art.

Some neighborhoods
Have competitions for the best display.
Nice to look at--but I wouldn't
Want their light bill after the holiday!

It's also really great when the
Blinking lights are set to music scores.
You'll have wonderful memories
When you see or hear the music in stores.

The most fun thing to do before Christmas
Is to drive and look at all the lights.
This is the part of the season
That's called "Merry And Bright."
