There Was A Man

There was a man, a good man--
Who served God, his Country
And his State.  He was humble and
He sang in the choir on Sundays.

He was a joker, loved to laugh.
He was kind and loved by all.
His favorite thing to do was
Sing old songs in hymnals.

He was a friend to everyone
And would not accept praise.
He'd say it was all God--
His voice in joyful song he raised.

One day, the Lord called
Him home--to join the Heavenly choir.
He is missed on earth, but
He answered the call most higher.
