Fanatic according to Webster's Dictionary: unreasonably enthusiastic, overly zealous.
Practically everyone everywhere
In the world is fanatic
About something these days--
Fashion or celebrities, they can get dramatic.
Who is politically correct
And who is not, whose religious
Beliefs are right--if they're different
Than yours, bully them or kill them--no fuss.
Who is allowed in certain places,
And who should be banned.
Factions fighting each other--
Drawing lines in the sand.
Why can't all this fanaticism
Be used for the world's good?
Not the craziness and drama,
But the enthusiasm could.
Put all that energy for useless things,
And point it toward research to kill
Deadly disease, give people clean water, and
Places safe to live and away from weather's chill.
Instead of fighting about who is
Right-just agree to disagree.
Help your fellow man regardless
Of their faith or ancestry.
The Bible says when you help
Others, you help angels unaware.
In these times, I'd like to think
Angels are everywhere.
