Days that aren't too hot or too cold,
Picnics or reunions with family and friends.
Home made lemonade and ice crream,
Happy times you never want to end.
The laughter of children playing together
On slippery slides and swings--
Bored teenagers listening to music,
Or constantly texting.
Introducing a boy/girl friend
To the family all at once.
Being so nervous before hand
You think you might lose your lunch.
Getting hugs from your Grandma,
Visiting an Aunt on her farm.
Taking pictures of each moment,
Making memories that keep you warm.
The first snowfall of winter--
Everything looks clean and bright.
Snowball fights and forts,
Untangling Christmas lights.
All that may not be high society,
Or get your name and face on the news--
Love God and Country and Family,
I know the life I'd choose.
