Souls

It's shared on TV and newspaper,
Online and by word  of mouth.
Someone saved someone's life--
And they are heroes there's no doubt.

But when is the last time
It made the news when
Someone's soul was saved?
It's not usually mentioned so as not to offend.

Life is a gift and should
Not be wasted.  Your soul
Is also a gift that's important--
And needs it's own nourishment to grow.

Some don't want to talk about it,
Except for Billy Graham.
Others think of televangelists that
Fell from Grace, and think it's a scam.

People argue about religion,
And that's not what to do.
Speak calmly and respectfully and
More info will get through.

If you act like a bully, and try
To force your beliefs on others--
People will close their hearts and minds and
Not know the joy of having Christian sisters and brothers.

Just like your body needs food,
Your soul needs God's word as food too.
To help it guide you through life,
And know what's right to do.

Jesus died to save our souls
From sin and the devil.
If you feed your soul right, when you leave
This life, you'll go to Heaven--the highest level.
