Our Rights

We have rights and freedom in this country,
That's what it's founded on.
Freedom of speech, to assemble, and
Freedom of religion are some.

What puzzles some Americans
Is why some feel threatened by
These rights that so many
Have fought for and died.

People complain if we
Pray in public--that is their right.
But praying whenever and wherever we want,
Shouldn't cause a fight.

If they don't believe
In religion and prayer,
They don't have to do either--
But respect our rights, it's only fair.

The want God out of schools,
The Pledge Of Allegiance too.
And no mention of God or religion
In government will do.

We have the right to assemble,
And to have free speech.
We don't force them into our churches
And listen to our Pastor's preach.

If they don't believe in God,
Then why do they fight against Him
So hard?  If they think he's not real--
Why hate and condemn?

We need God and prayer
Back in government and schools.
If they don't wish to participate,
They have that right--it's the rules.
