Sometimes they're as close as sisters,
Sometimes one rebels and drives
The other to her wits end.
This is how they sometimes live their lives.
They go shopping together,
Going from store to store.
Some like it--others
Think it's a chore.
Some vow never to
Sound like their mother--
The other says: "You sound like Grandma."
It makes the parent shudder.
Mom's need to remember
They were once daughters too.
And rebelled against their own Moms
With slight differences in what you do.
And daughters need to realize
Their Moms are trying to keep them
From making the same mistakes they did.
It's rough going, but worth it in the end.
