Laundry

Does anyone like to do laundry?
Truthfully now--like it?
The sorting of colors
Give you a fit?

There is regular, colors,
delicates and permanent press.
Get something mixed up --
You could have a real mess.

Yes it means having clean
Fresh clothes for you and your family--
And todays machines are easier than
Using a scrub board or rocks used to be.

And the increase in pollution and pollen
Make clotheslines obsolete.
And the things you find in pockets--
And gym bags that reek.

Technology has made laundry easier,
But it's not on anyone's list of fun.
Most would rather go shopping, to the movies--
Or spend a day in the sun.
