Fashion

Some designers are great,
Some show too much skin.
I was always told it's best
To leave something to the imagination.

Some design classics
That stand the test of time--
Others design horrors for which
Most wouldn't spend a dime.

There are some beautiful dresses
Shown on the runways.
Then a celebrity who thinks she's a fashionista
Destroys the beauty with additions to wear it HER way.

All the flounces and ruffles
Remind you of "Gone With The Wind".
Under loads and loads of fabric,
Is the tiny model within.

Some may like that style,
But women with curves
Like simple, classic designs that make
Them comfortable, not have a case of nerves.

The models are told to diet,
And end up looking like sticks.
If a wardrobe malfunctions--
There's nothing to see, so no hurry to fix.

They say they're starting
To design for "the real woman of every shape".
And some do great--but no one likes ugly colors
Or big gaudy prints you wouldn't use as drapes.

Maybe some day they'll all
Get it together and done right.
And women will stand out for class, brains and beauty --
Not because of their size.
