Time Travel

They make lots of movies
And write books about time travel.
Some reunite with long lost loves, or try
To change the course of history before it unravels.

They try to use knowledge
Of today to prevent the awful
Tragedies of yesterday,
Whether or not it's lawful.

There is usually conflict--
Disease, famine or war.
Things are blown up, people die or lose hope,
The don't know what the coming time has in store.

That is fine for folks
Who like that type of thing.
If time travel were real,
I'd go back to where there's no suffering.

I'd like to go where there
Was peace around the world--
No hatred due to politics or religion,
Or trying to kill innocent school girls.

Where everyone helped each other,
No matter where they were from.
There would be no invaders--so no one
Has to look down the barrel of a gun.

I'm afraid this time may not have
Existed since God created man.
After The Garden Of Eden, it shows
There has been killing and hatred since time began.
