When you graduated high school or college,
Many years ago---
Did your life go the way you planned it?
Most of us would say no.
You had things all mapped out,
To progress your life each year--
But things in life happen,
You may end up in a different career.
So many college graduates
Study for the major for their targeted career,
But some have to drop out for any number
Of reasons that caught them unaware.
The way the economy is now,
College degrees don't carry much weight.
And student loans cause debt load--
Payments are defaulted on or made very late.
Used to be seniority and life experience
Meant your job was safe. Now it means
Downsizing or retirement so you don't get paid what you deserve.
Your knowledge and seniority aren't worth a hill of beans.
