Whether planted in a garden,
Or growing wild in a field--
All kinds of flowers
Have a universal appeal.
Whether they bloom in Spring,
Summertime or fall--
The beauty of their colors
Fill you with awe.
Even indoor flowers
Can brighten a room.
My Mom and Grandma grew African Violets,
They always had the prettiest purple blooms.
I like Daisies and Carnations,
They fit my personality--
Simple and cheerful,
And not too fancy.
Mom loves Gladiolas,
And I can see why.
Their bright, vibrant colors
Are a feast for the eyes.
My other Grandma loved red Roses,
My late sister did too.
For years ladies wore that scent--
Seeing romance in the color and the perfume.
You can decorate with flowers
For practically any occasion--
They're one of God's miracles,
And a cause for celebration.
For those with allergies,
You'll have to admire from afar--
Or brave all the sneezing
And arrange some in a vase or jar.
