Clutter

Have you ever been told
You're too messy or cluttered?
Or your things rearranged
Without a word being uttered?

Some people have to have
Things aligned just so,
Maybe they had some
Military training--who knows?

Others are orderly
In their own way.
With stacks of papers or files
In disarray.

To the neatness people
That means disaster--
How could anyone ever
Find what they were after?

They think they're being "helpful"
Making comments here and there.
What they're really saying,
Is that their opinion you don't share.

What should be most important,
Is that the job is getting done.
No two people work or file
Exactly like the other one.

And someone rearranging
Your office when you're not there,
Should definitely be outlawed--
You'll have no idea what is where!

We're not talking hoarders, but a place
That shows work is done.
They say a cluttered desk shows genius--
What about an empty one?
