With all the money spent
To look young and beautiful
By both women and men--
Designers and dermatologists are moguls.
But though there's nothing
Wrong with that, don't neglect
Your inner beauty
Or your intellect.
If we only think of our outward appearance
And don't nurture and care
For the heart and soul inside--outward beauty
Can fade with age, inward beauty is always there.
Show your love and kindness
To people and animals alike.
Read aloud to elders--
Volunteer or babysit a tyke.
Enjoy the beauty of nature,
And spread that enjoyment around.
Make people glad they know you--
Tell how God's love and grace abound.
We need to tell our loved ones
Just how much they mean to us.
Not just now and then, but always.
Tomorrows you can't trust.
Beauty on the outside is nice,
But the most wonderful kind of all--
Is the kind that comes from inside,
Not a store in a shopping mall.
