They bring you into the world,
And every minute there after---
Love you and care for you
Amid tears and laughter.
They change your dirty diaper,
Give you baths so you are clean--
Feed you and hold you,
Sing you back to sleep after a bad dream.
They scold you or swat you
When you draw on the walls,
And hurry to check on you
When they hear your crying calls.
They've got your back when you do right,
And have you apologize when you're wrong.
They teach you to be respectful--
And teach you to be strong.
They are full of pride
At each milestone you make--
And always have a camera,
And dozens of pictures to take.
Not all mothers are good ones,
And that is their loss.
Not seeing the wonders of a childs' life
Is their cost.
They'll worry about you,
And boss you--and help if they can,
And listen and comfort
And hold your hand.
Until her dying day,
And even after she's gone--
She'll be your biggest fan, she stays in your heart--
So her love is never done.
