Man On The Moon

In the 60's President Kennedy
Urged us to get a man on the moon--
Mission accomplished in 1969,
Our scientific knowledge was unimpugned.

We've progressed even further
In science since that time--
What would happen if all areas
Of science could combine?

Put aside competition and egos,
Political and religious differences--
And all work together for the
Good of our citizens.

Medical doctors and scientists from other fields--
Combine all their knowledge and skill,
And research home remedies too--
To try and find cures for diseases that kill.

Improve mental health treatment for all--
Don't just lock them away,
If they're not a danger to others
Or themselves--help them find their way.

Surely NASA technology
And our best engineers,
Could improve prosthetics
And surgical tools to help for years.

Insurance would cover it--
So no excessive patient cost,
The government would fund the research--
To make up for other necessities lost.

No more wasting funds on studies
To explain how frogs mate,
Or buying expensive toilet seats---
Get them Port-A-Potties, I hear they're great.

Learn more to help abused, sick,
And homeless people and pets.
Let other countries study giving Viagra
To pandas to see how horny they get.
