Easter

Jesus is the reason
For THIS season too--
But this one adults celebrate differently,
Than little children do.

Children color eggs,
And have an Easter egg hunt--
New outfits and candy,
What more could they want?

But teenagers and adults
Know what Easter REALLY means--
Jesus rose from the dead,
To keep our heart and souls clean.

Mary Magdalene went to his tomb--
Which was borrowed by the way,
To pay her respects, and found empty burial cloths
And the stone rolled away.

She stood weeping in the garden--
Asking "what have they done with my Lord?"
She thought it was the gardener
Until he said " I have stayed true to my word".

"I said I would be killed,
And arise on the third day--
My Father in Heaven
Planned things this way."

"So you would know the truth of my teachings,
And your sins be washed away".
He saw His disciples and said
He was ascending to Heaven that day.

To assume His rightful place
At the right hand of God--
You should sing His praises,
And give Him His laud.

Though people may celebrate Easter
In many different ways,
We should follow His teachings--
For our debt He did pay.
