It's been said that eyes
Are the windows of the soul.
They show sadness when
Someone leaves you, and your heart has a hole.
They sparkle with joy
When you're happy--
They're dull and glazed
When you feel crappy.
They cry for different reasons--
Sorrow, happiness, and despair
A child's birth, someones death,
Or the loss of a job of many years.
You can act like
Life is wonderful--
But people that know you can tell,
When your soul feels sad and dull.
It's in the eyes.
