Do It For The Children

Jesus said "suffer the little children
To come unto me".
He didn't say to expose them
To war and disease.

Every country
Has corruption and poverty--
No nation is immune,
It's sickening to see.

People say they fight for better lives
For their families--
But the people they fight for are homeless,
Starving and exposed to new and old disease.

No one feels safe--
Children are taken away,
Gunfire and explosions
Are normal parts of their day.

The USA also has poverty,
Corruption and gangs--
Children are starving,
In the balance their lives hang.

Countries have political or religious differences,
Some even quarrel over "upper or lower class"--
They think it helps their cause
By killing or maiming innocents with bomb blasts.

Each religion teaches love and peace,
And to be kind and help others.
We all need to remember that,
Because to God we're sisters and brothers.
