This weekend my mother
Turns 80 years young,
I'd like to thank her and tell her
I love her for all that she's done.
She taught me to be kind
And be respectful of others,
To help people when I can--
In God's world we're all sisters and brothers.
She's taught me about God,
And to trust him in all things--
Because He is my Savior
And my King.
She taught me to cook,
As a child made me my clothes,
And when I did something wrong--
Discipline was given in fair dose.
She loves her 3 step-kids
As though they were her own,
They all call her Mom
Due to the love she has sown.
She's honest and true,
And your friend for life.
No matter what problem she has--
She'll help others through strife.
She's had health problems
Off and on for 4 years,
She prays to God for guidance--
And help with her fears.
She's been through many trials,
And come out strong,
Even my friends like her--
And feel comfy, like they belong.
She's not a saint
And never claimed to be--
Happy Birthday Mom,
As you turn 80.
