They fall when you're happy--
They fall when you're sad.
They fall when you laugh too hard.
They fall when things go bad.
Sometimes they're silent,
So no one knows.
Sometimes they're anguished
When you've been dealt a hard blow.
Sometimes you wait
Until no one else is around,
Then your sobbing
Is the only sound.
The tears that fall
Are not only from your eyes--
They come from your heart
Until the pain subsides.
They flow through your soul,
In an effort to cleanse--
To get all the pain out,
So you're not so tense.
Don't think you're the only one
Who lets their tears fall--
They're all around the world
And God hears them all.
