Abuse

No matter what you think is your reason
For using abuse,
I state it plainly --
There is NO excuse.

It comes in many forms,
verbal, emotional, sexual and domestic.
Some stay and try to hide it--
Others get out quick.

Some think it's their fault,
That they've done something wrong,
They may not have enough extra money---
And wonder how they'll get along.

That's why there are shelters
For victims of abuse.
And that's where they learn:
THERE IS NO EXCUSE.
