When you get a dog, you get a friend for life--and a family member. You must be sure it's fed and kept warm in the cold and cool in the heat. You do NOT NEGLECT your dog. You make sure it knows it's loved and safe in your care. It will give you unending love and loyalty. You make sure it stays well, and if it gets sick or injured, make sure it gets the proper medical attention. NEVER ABUSE your dog. They wouldn't hurt you, so why hurt them? Don't let it run loose and get picked up as a stray. Make sure to protect it from fleas, ticks, and heart worm, and that it is up to date on all it's vaccinations and checkups. Keep them clean and groomed just like you should be, they are your family after all. It will provide you moral support when you're sad, cheer you after a long day at work, and stay close when you are sick. It will do silly things to make you laugh. Most of all, it will never betray you like some humans do. When your dog gets old, don't just abandon it on the side of the road. You don't abandon and dump family when they get old. Make sure they aren't in pain and keep them at home unless the vet says otherwise . Dogs can tell when a person is bad and will be guarded around them. Remember someday when you're old-,-your kids won't a abandon you if they are the right kind of people. That's why people have dogs. God created them, so they can't be all bad.
